November 30th not only marks my birthday, it will now also be known as the day that I recorded my first style segment on Good Day Sacramento. I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity and here it is! Drumroll please...

Now for the deets! Neutrals will be taking over this season and to celebrate the trend, I styled 4 Tall looks that go a little somethin like this:

Lameka (6'1") slayed it on Good Day with some 36" Height Goddess Jeans, a roll neck top from LTS and some beautiful Smash booties (up to size 14). Check out these jean options from asos, LTS, Alloy Apparel, Doubs Clothing and Amalli Talli.

As for me...I have on a Long Tall Sally dress from last season and a pair of Eleanor Anukam heels (size 12).

A segment like this really takes a village to execute and let me tell you...my village is gorgeous and strong! Thank you to my dear friends Carly, Monique, Monica and Lameka for shutting these looks all the way down, my ace Nikki Notarte for always having my back and enhancing all of our beauty with her talents and last but certainly not least Courtney Dempsey for making all of this possible! God has really placed some incredible people in my life. I am blessed in every single way!

Let me know what you think about the piece. Also, if you have any ideas/connections for more pieces...please let me know. I mean...a closed mouth doesn't get fed lol. I am here for all of the constructive criticism, suggestions and connections:-)

If your holiday season was anything like mine, you didn't have time to look for a New Years outfit, let alone buy one. Never fear...your closet is here!

Yep, that's right. Step right on in to the comforts of the clothes that are conveniently placed in your closet. Take this look; the shoes are 3 years old, the pants and blazer are 2 years old and I bought the top on super sale last year and never wore it. Now, you are probably saying, Alicia, who just has this stuff hanging in their closet? You do boo and here are 5 tips to pull off a last minute NYE look:

1. USE BLACK AS THE FOUNDATION

Black is a color that goes with everything and is the best foundation for a last minute look because it's timeless, flattering and everyone has something black in their closet. Anything from a little black dress to a jumpsuit to a black skinny jean and crop top...start with black and the possibilities are endless. Want to ramp it up a bit? Go with a vibrant, solid color as your base.

2. ADD SOME SPARKLE

Take a scan of your clothes, shoes and makeup for anything that sparkles. Try them on with your fit and pick the option(s) that work best for you. Even something as small as an eyeshadow with some sparkle in it, can glam up your look for your NYE soirees. Don't be afraid to wear multiple sparkly pieces...go sparkle or go home!

3. SHOESTOPPERS

We all have those bold shoes that we can't rock that often because everyone would easily notice a repeat wear (it shouldn't matter but it does). Break those babies out for your NYE parties. A hot shoe will polish off your look and make your fit standout in the crowd as you bring in the New Year.

4. FROST LIKE A BOSS

Breakout those eye-catching accessories that don't get an every day wear...this is the time to rock those bad boys! I went with gold but any metallic will do. This is also something quick and inexpensive that you can buy if you absolutely have no options (but I know you do).

5. GLAM BAM

Rock out your hair, makeup and nails. It's amazing what you can create in just these 3 things alone. Even a white tee can be glammed up when all these elements are personalized and polished. Quick Tip: When it comes to parties you can't go wrong with a bold, bright lip.

THE ULTIMATE RULE: CONFIDENCE IS KEY

No matter what...rock what makes you feel great! Bring in the New Year in a fit that you love and you can never go wrong. When you look good, you feel amazing and your confidence sizzles even more than it already shines.

I wish you light, love and uber success in 2016. Pursuit those dreams, prepare for your blessings and appreciate them when they come. And please tag your Tall NYE looks with @TallSWAG so I can see how your Tall, fabulous self brought in the New Year!

Cheers to an amazing 2016!

I don't know about you but in The Bay the weather is confused right now.  In a way, I think it's having a spring-fall identity crisis.  For example the high today is 73 degrees.  Excuse me weather but it's October and I want to wear all of my fabulous fall clothes.

With that said, I am still in transition mode.  Because of the cold mornings and warm afternoons, I am  having to wear a lot of layers.  I am also trying to infuse a little fall while at the same time acknowledging the spring-like weather.

My remedy? A cream blazer to spring it up and some fall hints to bring it all together.

I absolutely love this pleated skirt from target.  I got it from the clearance rack last season.  It also has a fab faux leather detail at the waist that is perfect for this season.  For fall and winter I am going to pair it with a camel turtleneck, tights and boots.

The tall cambray shirt from Gap is the perfect piece for any season. You can roll up the sleeves or wear them down (yes, they are long enough for us), layer it or wear it on it's own.  It's a must have staple for our closets.

One of my favorite pieces to rock is a 3/4 sleeve blazer and this cream baby is perfect for transitional outfits.  Crispy, clean and effortless.

The shoes, THE SHOES! You know I love a good Payless pick-up and I almost passed out at my computer when I saw these (yes, I know I am dramatic).  Color blocking, animal print, up to size 13...need I say more?  You get tall girl points Christian!  Let me know if you want me to test some shoes for you (or ya know, just rock every pair that you make).  I am totally down.

What fits are you feeling this October?

Independence Day

I will never forget the day another tall woman came up to me and told me that I shouldn't be wearing red because it would bring MORE attention to me (it was a super cute shirt btw). I was baffled, astonished, mad and then sad. Before I could even react, she was off. Clearly she tried to paint her insecurities on me. Thank God they didn't stick.  I hope they aren't sill stuck with her.

I am all about red (really any color) this season.  It highlights your amazing presence.  I LOVE these pants from Ann Taylor LOFT (10T). They are super flattering and the fabric is comfy (it's almost like wearing sweatpants).  The pants were long enough with flats (36") but I wanted to wear them with the platforms (Payless pick-ups) so I had a tailor bring them down (a good tailor should become your best friend.  I wish I could legally adopt mine).

The shirt is also Ann Taylor LOFT.  I really bought it because I had a promo code and needed $10 more dollars to make the $20 off quota (I live for a sale).  So really, I feel like I almost got the shirt for free (which we know isn't really true but I'm going to roll with it).  However, I wear the shirt all the time.  With jeans, skirts, suits, you get the drift.  Most of the time I keep it tied but I also leave it long for a "tie" look.

Last but not least, my baby, the vintage blue handbag.  Can you believe I picked it up for $12!?! I was as shocked as you are.  I stumbled upon this watch repair shop by my office that doubles as a vintage handbag shop (SCORE) and have been going weekly ever since.

I say all of that to say this. No matter what ANYONE says, rock whatever you want to rock when you want to rock it. That is all.

PS. Don't sleep on the bracelet.  It was the perfect period to the fit and is a Candid Art origiNAL.

And The Winner Is

And now...it's time for the main event.  In the left corner, standing at 3.75", mad pewter sparkle, comes in sizes up to 12 and a platform that won't quit, from Target...THE BLISS SPARKLE PUMP!  And in the right corner...standing at 5", a 1.5" platform, available in sizes up to 13 and gold glitter glam, from Payless...THE KOMET PLATFORM PUMP! Let the match begin!

OK, that was a bit dramatic but I have a huge decision on my hands...which pump should I wear on New Years?  I love both, have accessories to compliment both and they both go with my Kate Long Sleeved Rouched Dress from Height Goddess

Please help me pick! Tweet, comment on FB or below.  While you're at it, please let us know what you will be rockin to bring in the New Year.  I'm sure it's fabulous as always:-)

Which one should I rock? Tweet, post or comment. Need your own HOT shoes for New Years? Click the pic to visit the TallSWAG shoes page.
