Hot Potato Cold Potato

Farrah Bow Blouse - Height Goddess/Tall Ultra Skinny Pants - GAP/Shoes - Kelsi Dagger Eliza from Barefoot Tess (size 12)/Tank - Long Tall Sally Stretch Cotton Cami/Bag - Thrifted

It's summer! I am doing a little dance.  I wish you could see it.  It's a cross between the Carlton and the Carlton.

For me, every summer brings one of style life's hardest questions: What do you wear in a cold office on a super hot day?

You don't want to throw on a mediocre cardigan over a cute summer fit, you sure don't want to dress like an Eskimo in the middle of summer and attacking the thermostat is just not an option (I tried it and it wasn't pretty).  So what do you do?

Make a compromise. Find clothing that covers for the cold office but breathes on the hot path to and from work.

One of my go-to pieces that does this is the Farrah Bow Blouse from Height Goddess.  It's sheer, long enough in the arms and works in any season for many situations.  It's the perfect compromise for the hot-cold conundrum.

I paired the Farrah with some sleek ankle pants and one of my favorite shoe finds, the Kelsi Dagger Eliza Heel from Barefoot Tess. They are timeless shoes that ALWAYS get compliments. A lady tried to take them off my feet last time I wore them.  Was she joking? Yes.  But I don't joke when it comes to shoes so she didn't get a "joking" Alicia back. Don't mess with the pumps lady!

So there you have it.  I know.  You can sleep now.  Thank a tall girl later:)

Lazy Sunday

We all know how I feel about a flat.  If they are your thing, great. But my personal favorite for footwear has always been a fierce heel.  However, there are no doubt those days where a flat is the only thing that seems appropriate.  One of those days was Sunday.

I went to the city for shopping with the girls and a pic-lunch in the park.  All of this equates to a lot of walking.  I wanted some shoes that were comfortable yet made a statement.  My BFT Napas were perfect.  The pop of graphic color showed that I don't play around when it comes to my shoes BUT I also don't play around with comfort on those days when you are walking too dang much (yes, this is what goes through my head when I'm getting ready for the day).

Because my shoes were statements on their own, I threw on two of my comfy favs that go with almost everything: my Height Goddess jeans and a Bella long sleeved white top.  Both are cute and more importantly both are long enough.

Honorable mention to my Mom's belt.  I love it and it was free99.  Straight out of her closet when she wasn't looking.

Last, but certainly not least, the lime green/yellowish, ombre scarf.  What had happened was, my friend was wearing it, it didn't go with what she was wearing, so I took it off of her and put it on me.

So that's my lazy Sunday outfit.  What do you wear on a lazy Sunday? Email photos to info@TallSWAG.com. We want to see and share.

Attack of the Orange

Looking at the site, I think you can see that I LOVE color.  I used to be stuck in a black, brown and white phase but from the moment I put on my first POP of color, I ran like a sprinter with it. However, orange was one of those colors that I thought I could never wear.  I always thought that I was too orange for orange.

I couldn't have been more wrong.  One day I put on an orange tank top and my world changed.  Another parameter that I placed on myself was shed and I got that much closer to being fashionably free.

Dang. That was deep.  You are just talking about orange Alicia. Calm down.

Story short: try everything! After all, you never know until you try (there I go getting deep again).

Orange you glad to see these options (I know, corny. I had to do it lol)...which one (or ones) tickle your fancy?

By now you have probably noticed that some of this options are orange's cousin, coral. Too beautiful of a color to leave out. Had to keep it in the family:)
