And The Winner Is

And now...it's time for the main event.  In the left corner, standing at 3.75", mad pewter sparkle, comes in sizes up to 12 and a platform that won't quit, from Target...THE BLISS SPARKLE PUMP!  And in the right corner...standing at 5", a 1.5" platform, available in sizes up to 13 and gold glitter glam, from Payless...THE KOMET PLATFORM PUMP! Let the match begin!

OK, that was a bit dramatic but I have a huge decision on my hands...which pump should I wear on New Years?  I love both, have accessories to compliment both and they both go with my Kate Long Sleeved Rouched Dress from Height Goddess

Please help me pick! Tweet, comment on FB or below.  While you're at it, please let us know what you will be rockin to bring in the New Year.  I'm sure it's fabulous as always:-)

Which one should I rock? Tweet, post or comment. Need your own HOT shoes for New Years? Click the pic to visit the TallSWAG shoes page.

on a seperate note..seriously how do you wear heels that high and not care what others say? im 6'2" and i wear at most 2.5 and i still feel like everyone gawks more at me..most times im fine but it others it just wears me down..and makes me want to blend in..(and honestly i prefer those that come up and ask me how talli am rather than stare point nudge their friend for them to look whisper and so on)...how do you get to that point of just not caring? or do you have days like that too?

If you can rock 'em, I'd go for the Payless. It is a better looking shoe in the first place.

I'm pretty excited about what I'm doing. I'm a serious swing dancer and I'm going to a dance with some really experienced people in my zoot suit.

Nessa,

I think that everyone has their days but for the most part I figure I am tall, I might as well be tall with some HOT shoes on:) When I wear flats, I still get the stares so basically I just wear what I want to and let them do whatever they want to. If I lived my life based on reactions, I would always be in the house.

Honestly, when I wear heels I get more compliments from people then stares. People are pleased to see a confident woman. I get a lot of tall women that come up and say that they NEVER thought of wearing heels until they saw me wearing them. This makes me sad but I also understand it at the same time because I was once like them.

So…my bottom line is…ROCK what you want and TallSWAG it out! :-)

Hi Nessa and Alicia

I'm closer to Nessa's height at 6'3, but I have no problem with heels as long as they are comfortable enough. There is this line between sexy looking and comfortable and I look for a compromise that I can live with when I'm rocking heels as *nothing* looks worse than a woman trying to walk shoes in pain. For me this means a 3 or 3-1/2 inch heel and a bit more if there is a well designed platform. Of course there is this little issue of finding good looking, well designed, comfortable shoes that actually fit...

You might be interested in this post that mentions ECCO - I live in Denmark and they are located here.

Their Kiev Mary Jane works well for my taste and is comfortable and easy to rock. Unfortunately their size range isn't as great as it should be. When I lived in NYC I wasn't a huge fan of Payless as I didn't like the construction and could rarely find something that was comfortable. The prices were good and there were often shoes in my size, but comfort and walkability are really important to me.

As to the issue of being tall and wearing heels I'm in Alicia's camp. People are always checking to see if I'm wearing heels even if I'm in flats, so it really doesn't matter. I have a couple of friends who are much taller than me, so I figure if I'm not even at their height when I'm wearing heels and they are so happy and well adjusted as women, why should I worry about what other people may think.

My average sized friends who are deeply into street fashion are jealous that I command more attention than they do even when I'm just in jeans and a tee. Doing street fashion can be fun and rewarding too. I feel best when a woman comes up to me and is excited by what I'm wearing and never gets around to mentioning my height. It is about finding your style and I'm still working on that.

Thanks for your blog Alicia. You have a lot of good ideas and are great about sharing them. I think a lot of tall women don't see themselves as being able to participate in fashion - they never really try to find their style. That saddens me and maybe you are causing some of them to "think different" :-)

I realized that I may have come off not confident in my last post..I am a confident person who at almost 30 is married to a wonderful man who is *gasp* only 6'1" lol and does not care that I am taller and does not mind that I wear heels..I guess being from a very small town in PA I get more stares than would a tall woman who lives in a larger city etc..on a trip to NY no one looked or even asked...I was in Heaven! I could rock heels everyday if it was always like that haha

have any of you ever worn the samanta brand shoes? they are all so beautiful just wondering if they were worth their heavy price tag?

December 22, 2011 | Unregistered Commenternessa

Nessa,

I know you are confident:) Work that 6'2" TallSWAG it out in PA:)

I have not tried the Samanta brand but I want to SO bad! These are the ones I want to try right now but my bank account told me no: http://bit.ly/rIJXCh

Sorry...I announced it on Twitter but totally forgot to post it on here (must have been all of that new years fun!). I rocked the goldies. They were a big hit! I have to admit I felt like a million bucks in them (even though they clearly didn't cost that much lol). I have to give props to Payless. They have been coming out with some really cute styles lately. I just ordered these and can't wait to wear them: http://bit.ly/AFwxPg

Hope you have an AMAZING New Year!
